Aerodrome launches tokenized stocks for Nvidia, Meta, Apple, and Google on Base

You can now trade tokenized versions of four of the world’s biggest tech stocks on a decentralized exchange. Aerodrome, the dominant DEX on Coinbase’s Base network, has gone live with liquidity pools for Nvidia, Meta, Apple, and Alphabet (Google), each represented as onchain tokens backed 1:1 by actual shares. The tokens, branded NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, and GOOGLc, were issued by Coinbase and launched on August 24. Combined onchain value at launch hit roughly $4.55 million, and Aerodrome’s governance token AERO climbed about 11.3% on the news, trading at approximately $0.5334 with around $94.3 million in volume. What exactly are these tokens Each token represents a one-to-one claim on a real share of the underlying company. The actual equities sit in regulated custody at Alpaca, operating under the Abu Dhabi Global Market regulatory framework. The tokens use the B20 token standard, which is designed to handle corporate actions like dividends and stock splits onchain. One important caveat: these tokens are only available to eligible users outside the United States.
