Apple removes Telegram from App Store over child safety violations, raising fresh questions for TON ecosystem

Apple pulled Telegram from its App Store on August 4 after discovering child sexual abuse material on the platform. The app was back roughly 90 minutes later, once Telegram deleted the offending content and banned the user responsible. Apple enforces strict policies around child sexual abuse material, and when it found CSAM on Telegram, it did what it’s done before: it yanked the app entirely. Telegram responded quickly. The content was removed, the offending user was banned, and the app was restored to the App Store within about an hour and a half. This isn’t the first time this exact scenario has played out. Back in 2018, Telegram was delisted from the App Store for the same reason: CSAM violations. Following that incident, the company enhanced its systems for monitoring public content, though challenges persist.
