Bain Capital Tech Opportunities is putting $74 million behind RQD* Clearing, the stock and options intermediary that has quietly built itself into a real player in US equities clearing. The minority growth equity investment, announced on August 27, positions the firm to scale globally and push deeper into digital asset custody and tokenization. Roughly $66 million of that total comes directly from Bain, with additional participation from ABN AMRO Clearing Bank and Nyca Partners. Existing investors Gentree Fund and Belvedere Strategic Capital also joined the round. For a company that spun out of Volant Securities just seven years ago, the backing represents a meaningful endorsement from some of the most sophisticated names in financial infrastructure investing. A clearing firm punching above its weight RQD* has been building proprietary, real-time clearing and custody infrastructure for broker-dealers and registered investment advisors.
