Barcelona agrees to €55M deal to sell Ferran Torres to PSG

FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement in principle to transfer Ferran Torres for €50 million plus €5 million in add-ons. The deal, which has been in the works through early August 2026, would send the 26-year-old Spanish forward to Ligue 1 after four and a half years in Catalonia. Torres has already agreed on personal terms with PSG and communicated to Barcelona his desire to make the move. With just one year left on his contract, set to expire in June 2027, the club’s leverage in negotiations was always going to erode with each passing month. How the deal came together Barcelona initially rejected PSG’s opening bid of €50 million, pushing back on what it considered insufficient guarantees around the base fee structure. The French club apparently sharpened the terms enough to bring Barcelona back to the table. The total package of €55 million, when you factor in the add-ons, essentially mirrors what Barcelona paid Manchester City to sign Torres in January 2022. That original deal was worth an initial €55 million with up to €10 million in potential bonuses.
