Think of tokenized equities as Wall Street stocks wearing a blockchain costume. Same underlying asset, same economic exposure, but tradeable 24/7, globally, without the usual brokerage gatekeepers. Binance co-CEO Richard Teng spotlighted data showing tokenized equities surged from capturing 0.4% of SPY’s trading volume in June 2026 to 2.3% in July. For context, SPY is the world’s most-traded ETF, tracking the S&P 500. The numbers behind the noise According to Binance Research, tokenized equities volume hit $18.2B in July 2026 alone. That’s a 4.4x increase from June. The year-to-date total through the end of July stood at $34.3B, meaning more than half of the entire year’s volume materialized in a single month. A significant chunk of that momentum traces directly back to Binance’s own product. The exchange launched bStocks on June 11, 2026, offering 1:1 backed tokenized versions of US stocks and ETFs. By July 29, bStocks had crossed $500M in market capitalization. That figure represented 27% of the entire global tokenized equity market cap, giving Binance more than a quarter of a sector it had only entered seven weeks earlier.
