Binance’s traditional-asset perpetual futures volume exploded from roughly $30 billion to $445 billion in July, a 15x increase that cements the exchange’s position as the dominant venue for crypto-native derivatives tied to real-world financial instruments. From January through July, total TradFi perpetual volume across all platforms surpassed $1.6 trillion, and Binance has been eating the lion’s share of that pie, holding between 59% and 76% of the market depending on the subcategory. A new kind of stock market Binance launched its TradFi Perps suite in January, offering perpetual futures contracts on commodities like gold and silver, individual equities, and ETFs. All settled in USDT, all available around the clock, and all with leverage ranging from 20x to 50x. During active market hours, the contracts track price indices drawn from live trading data. When traditional exchanges close, Binance uses an Exponentially Weighted Moving Average mechanism to maintain price continuity. By late July, Binance had launched 146 TradFi trading pairs.
