Bitcoin’s 100-1,000 BTC wallets accumulate 113,950 BTC since July 15

The cohort of Bitcoin wallets holding between 100 and 1,000 BTC has added 113,950 BTC since July 15, according to on-chain data from Santiment. At current prices, that’s a massive pile of Bitcoin changing hands from weaker holders to the kind of wallets typically associated with institutions, funds, and family offices. Who are these wallets, and why do they matter? As of late September 2026, approximately 18,205 wallets fall into the 100-1,000 BTC range. Collectively, they hold about 5,243,253 BTC, which represents roughly 26.1% of Bitcoin’s entire circulating supply. More than a quarter of all Bitcoin sits in this tier. Over the past year, from September 2025 to September 2026, this cohort’s holdings increased by 222,756 BTC. The longer-term picture is even more striking. Between May 2024 and March 2026, these wallets added approximately 1.26 million BTC, even as larger holders in the 1,000-10,000 BTC tier experienced net reductions.
