When the world’s largest asset manager starts framing Bitcoin as a rational response to government spending, the conversation has shifted from crypto speculation to macroeconomic strategy. Robert Mitchnick, BlackRock’s Managing Director and Head of Digital Assets, told CNBC that Bitcoin’s fundamental investment case is getting stronger as US fiscal conditions deteriorate, with federal debt now north of $40 trillion and annual interest payments closing in on $1 trillion. That interest bill alone now consumes over 14% of total federal spending. To put that in perspective, the US government is spending roughly as much on debt service as it does on defense, and the trajectory is pointing up, not down.
