Blockchain.com and NYSE are both racing into tokenized securities, just not together

Two of the more recognizable names in their respective corners of finance are both moving toward tokenized securities trading. The catch: they are doing it independently, not as partners. Blockchain.com has been quietly building out its tokenized asset offerings through a deal with Ondo Finance, while the New York Stock Exchange is pursuing its own blockchain-based trading platform under parent company Intercontinental Exchange. The two efforts share a broad thesis but no formal relationship, no data-sharing agreement, and no joint venture. What each side is actually doing Blockchain.com’s path into tokenized equities runs through Ondo Finance, a partnership that kicked off in October 2025. The arrangement lets users access tokenized versions of US stocks and ETFs through Blockchain.com’s DeFi wallet, with the asset catalog growing from roughly 100 listings at launch to more than 430 by mid-2026. Access is currently limited to non-US users, which reflects the regulatory reality that tokenized US equities occupy a complicated legal space domestically.
