Blockchain.com is targeting a valuation of between $4 billion and $6 billion in a potential US initial public offering this year, as the crypto brokerage looks to take advantage of an improving market for digital assets. The company is seeking to raise about $500 million through the listing, according to people familiar with the plans cited by Bloomberg. Blockchain.com could pursue a smaller offering depending on market conditions, while discussions remain ongoing and the terms could still change. The plans build on a confidential filing Blockchain.com submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission in May for an offering of Class A ordinary shares. At the time, the company had not determined the number of shares or expected price range. Blockchain.com has been broadening its business in the months since that filing as it moves beyond its roots in crypto wallets and brokerage services. Last week, the company signed an agreement with the New York Stock Exchange to explore giving Blockchain.com users access to tokenized US-listed stocks and ETFs through the NYSE’s planned digital trading platform.
