Buildots raises $166M in cumulative funding to bring AI to construction sites

Construction is one of those industries that somehow made it to 2025 while still running on clipboards, walkie-talkies, and a healthy dose of optimism. Buildots, an Israeli AI startup founded in 2018, has been quietly assembling a war chest to change that. The company has now raised $166 million in cumulative funding, with Intel Capital serving as a lead strategic backer. Intel Capital led a $15 million investment in Buildots in July 2024, which brought total funding to $121 million at that point. A $45 million Series D round followed in May 2025, pushing the total to its current figure. What Buildots actually does The platform works by combining 360-degree on-site cameras with AI-powered computer vision to create what’s known as a “digital twin” of a construction project. Think of it as a real-time, navigable replica of a building site that lives in the cloud. That digital twin gets compared against the project’s Building Information Modeling plans and schedules.
