Cádiz secures loan deal for Antonio Cordero from Newcastle until 2026

Newcastle United and Cádiz CF have agreed on a loan deal that sends 19-year-old Spanish winger Antonio Cordero to the Segunda División club through the end of the 2025/26 season. The deal was finalized on December 31, 2025.

Cordero, born on November 14, 2006, in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, joined Newcastle on a long-term contract on July 1, 2025. He arrived after a productive spell at Málaga, where he racked up 60 appearances, 7 goals, and 9 assists.

Before landing at Cádiz, Cordero had a brief loan stint at Belgian club KVC Westerlo starting in August 2025. That arrangement was cut short to facilitate this move to Spain’s second tier.

During his time at Cádiz, Cordero has featured in 21 league matches, earning 16 starts and scoring 3 goals. Those numbers have apparently impressed Cádiz’s management enough that discussions about extending the loan into the 2026/27 season were held in June 2026.
