Chainlink powers Coinbase’s cbBTC expansion to Robinhood Chain

Two of the largest retail-facing platforms in crypto are now connected through a single piece of infrastructure. Coinbase’s wrapped Bitcoin product, cbBTC, is available on Robinhood Chain, with Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol serving as the bridge that makes it all work. The expansion effectively links Coinbase’s wrapped asset ecosystem, valued at roughly $7 billion when the partnership was first struck, to Robinhood’s freshly launched Layer-2 blockchain. For users, it means Bitcoin-backed assets can now flow between platforms that collectively serve tens of millions of customers. How the plumbing works The connection traces back to December 2025, when Coinbase designated Chainlink CCIP as the exclusive bridge for its entire suite of wrapped assets. That includes cbBTC, cbETH, and other tokenized products that represent underlying crypto holdings on different chains. Robinhood Chain, which went live on July 1, 2026, was built with this interoperability baked in from day one.
