Chainlink’s Sergey Nazarov discusses digital assets and AI at Sibos 2026

Sergey Nazarov spent part of Sibos 2026 explaining to some of the world’s largest banks why their money should probably live on a blockchain. The Chainlink co-founder joined executives from Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas to discuss how digital assets and AI agents will cut settlement times. From conference talk to production code Sibos 2026 ran from September 28 to October 1, 2026, in Miami Beach. The event featured over 500 speakers and more than 250 sessions. This year’s theme was “Digital finance for AI-driven economies.” Nazarov’s central argument concerned tokenized cash. He grouped tokenized deposits, stablecoins and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) together as forms of money that financial institutions increasingly value, driven by demand for speed and interoperability. The more notable claim was about action, not interest. Nazarov said banks are actively constructing their own tokenized deposit chains, driven by demand for these formats.
