Circle CEO urges US to lead digital finance with stablecoins

Circle brought its case for American dominance in digital finance straight to Capitol Hill this week, with President Heath Tarbert testifying before the House Financial Services Committee on September 2. The message was direct: the US has a narrow window to cement the dollar’s role in the next generation of global payments, and stablecoins are the tool to do it. The testimony lands at a moment when Circle is riding a streak of regulatory wins and CEO Jeremy Allaire is publicly projecting that the stablecoin market could swell from hundreds of billions to trillions in total capitalization.
