Clarity Act stalls as Senate Republicans raise concerns over stablecoin yield

The CLARITY Act, the most ambitious piece of crypto legislation to reach the Senate floor in years, has hit a wall. And the wall is made of something deceptively simple: interest payments. Senate Republicans are balking at provisions that would allow stablecoin issuers to offer yield to holders, a feature that traditional banks view as an existential threat to their deposit base.
