Coinbase gains UK approval to expand into equities and derivatives

Coinbase has received UK authorization to provide investment services, expanding its offerings beyond crypto to include traditional financial instruments, the company announced Tuesday.

The license will allow institutional and advanced traders to access derivatives across crypto, equities and commodities, while retail users will be able to trade equities on the platform.

Coinbase said the move is its largest UK product expansion to date and supports its long-term goal of creating a single platform for crypto, traditional finance and future tokenised assets.
