Delta Electronics and Nvidia are joining forces to build the brains, and the power supply, behind self-driving cars. Delta announced a strategic collaboration with Nvidia on September 29, 2026, focused on developing next-generation Level 4 autonomous driving systems and robotaxis. What the partnership actually covers The announcement came from Delta in Fremont, California. The company is publicly traded on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the code 2308. The deal combines two very different skill sets. Delta brings its experience in automotive energy management and electric vehicle powertrain systems. Nvidia brings Hyperion, its reference platform for autonomous vehicles. On the technical side, Hyperion includes dual Nvidia DRIVE AGX Thor compute systems and a standardized sensor architecture. The platform also includes Halos, Nvidia’s safety system. Halos is designed to support ISO 26262 ASIL-D compliance. ISO 26262 is the functional safety standard for road vehicles, and ASIL-D is its most demanding tier, reserved for systems where a failure could seriously hurt people. The collaboration centers on two areas: power electronics and in-vehicle high-performance computing for Level 4 s...
