El Salvador’s Bitcoin reserve is worth $618 million, and every coin remains visible on-chain. The country has held Bitcoin since 2021, despite the conditions attached to its loan program with the International Monetary Fund. What the reserve looks like today The reserve held between 7,760 and 7,792 BTC as of late September to early October 2026. The exact count depends on which snapshot you check. The dollar value moves with the market. Depending on Bitcoin’s price, the reserve has been valued at approximately $598 million to $660 million. The reserve has grown since the IMF program began. When the program started, El Salvador held approximately 5,968 to 6,070 BTC. Holdings have since climbed by more than 1,700 BTC.
