A euro transfer to an account at a crypto exchange looked like any other payment for years: enter the IBAN, enter the amount, authorise it, wait one or two business days. Since October 9, 2025 the very same transfer runs through an additional checkpoint. Many investors notice this for the first time when their banking app shows a warning before authorisation, or refuses to accept the order at all. The trigger sits neither with the exchange nor with your own bank. It sits in an EU regulation that has rebuilt euro payments. Anyone who knows which check applies at which point avoids most returned payments before they arise. This is not a question of convenience. A deposit that spends three days in transit misses the price you transferred for, and in the worse case a deadline the exchange has set.
