Expensify integrates Claude AI from Anthropic for small businesses

Expensify just made it possible to ask your AI assistant what you spent on coffee last quarter, and actually get an answer. The Nasdaq-listed expense management company has rolled out a Model Context Protocol server that connects AI tools like Anthropic’s Claude directly to users’ financial data, turning expense tracking from a spreadsheet chore into a conversation. The integration was spotlighted on September 15 as part of Anthropic’s launch of Claude for Small Business, which debuted with 27 integrations and 43 workflows aimed squarely at small and medium-sized businesses. Expensify landed a prominent spot in that lineup. How the integration actually works The Expensify MCP server, which first launched on June 8, creates a secure bridge between AI assistants and a user’s Expensify account. Claude can retrieve and analyze expense data, but it cannot approve reports, modify settings, or make any changes within the platform.
