Radu Dragusin is leaving Tottenham Hotspur. Fiorentina has agreed to take the Romanian central defender on loan from Spurs, with an obligation to buy attached to the deal.
Dragusin arrived at Spurs from Genoa in January 2024, with the transfer fee reportedly landing somewhere between €25 million and €30 million, plus add-ons. He signed a long-term contract securing his stay at Spurs until at least 2029.
Fiorentina’s interest in Dragusin dates back to at least January 2026. Tottenham’s current valuation of Dragusin sits at around €20 million. The club paid up to €30 million roughly 18 months ago, and the asset has depreciated by a third, largely because playing time was never consistently provided.
For Fiorentina, this is a deliberate, targeted piece of squad building after a difficult 2025/26 campaign. The fact that he played in Italy before gives the move a natural logic. The loan-with-obligation structure means Fiorentina have committed to a permanent transfer contingent on the loan running its course.
Fiorentina are operating under sporting director Fabio Paratici, who has identified Dragusin as a key target for strengthening their defensive lineup. At 23, Dragusin holds a contract at Tottenham until 2029, meaning Spurs retain leverage on the permanent fee structure embedded in the obligation to buy.
