FOX Corporation is going all-in on the 2026 FIFA World Cup, announcing that its streaming service Fox One will deliver every single one of the tournament’s 104 matches in 4K resolution. The coverage window runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026, spanning what will be the largest World Cup ever staged.
This is the first time the tournament expands to 48 teams, up from the traditional 32, spread across venues in the US, Canada, and Mexico. For Fox, it’s not just a sporting event. It’s a subscription play disguised as a soccer broadcast.
Fox One’s World Cup gambit
Fox One launched on August 21, 2025, priced at $19.99 per month after a three-day free trial. The service bundles Fox’s news, entertainment, and sports content into a single streaming package, but the World Cup is clearly the crown jewel meant to pull viewers through the door.
The broadcast breakdown works like this: FOX’s main network will carry a record 70 matches, including 21 in primetime slots. FS1 picks up another 34 matches. But Fox One is the only place where every match will be available in 4K, making it the premium destination for viewers who want the sharpest picture quality.
For the budget-conscious, there’s a consolation prize. Limited free 4K simulcasts of select matches will be available on Tubi, Fox’s free ad-supported streaming platform.
Fox One will offer AI-driven personalization, multiview options that let fans watch multiple matches simultaneously, and on-demand replays.
The subscriber acquisition machine
Fox knows this, and they’re not being subtle about it. The company is running a marketing push that includes a “Chief World Cup Watcher” contest with a $50,000 prize, set to take place in Times Square.
At $19.99 per month, Fox One sits in a competitive price range alongside other premium streaming options. The three-day free trial is designed to get viewers in the door right as the tournament starts.
