G2 Esports, the organization that has practically trademarked winning in European League of Legends, stands on the doorstep of the 2026 World Championship. One victory over Team Vitality in the LEC Summer Playoffs upper bracket on September 5 would secure their spot at Worlds 2026. For an org that has hoisted 11 LEC trophies, the idea of G2 sweating out a Worlds qualification might seem unusual. But the road to this point has been bumpier than their trophy case suggests. A season of highs and lows G2’s 2026 campaign started about as well as any team could hope. They claimed the LEC Spring Split championship, adding yet another title to what is already the most decorated resume in European League of Legends history.
