For decades, the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ meeting has been a government-only affair. That changed in Asheville, North Carolina, where Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon joined official discussions as direct participants, not observers waiting in a hotel lobby. The meeting runs August 31 to September 1, 2026, hosted by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. It is the first G20 finance track meeting to formally include private-sector leaders in the room where policy gets shaped. What is actually on the agenda The headline topics are economic growth, global imbalances, sovereign debt restructuring, and supply chain resilience.
