Hewlett Packard Enterprise secures $1.2B Vultr order for AMD Helios AI racks

Hewlett Packard Enterprise just locked in a $1.2 billion order from Vultr, the largest privately held hyperscaler, to deploy its new Helios rack-scale AI systems powered by AMD’s latest silicon. The deal underscores how aggressively cloud infrastructure companies are spending to keep pace with AI compute demand, and it’s big enough that HPE decided to revise its financial outlook upward. What HPE is actually building Each Helios rack can house up to 72 AMD Instinct MI455X GPUs paired with Zen 6 EPYC CPUs, delivering up to 2.9 exaFLOPS of FP4 performance per rack. The systems also integrate AMD’s Pensando networking solutions, liquid cooling, and open Ethernet fabric. HPE and AMD expanded their collaboration in December 2025, targeting 2026 shipments. Vultr will begin pre-orders for the AMD Helios systems with deployments expected from Q4 2026.
