IEM Beijing 2026 features 24 teams competing across closed qualifiers

ESL has opened the doors to IEM Beijing 2026’s closed qualifiers, giving 24 teams a shot at earning one of three remaining spots in the main event. The tournament, part of the long-running Intel Extreme Masters series, will take place from November 2 to 8 at the Bloomage Biotech Biohyalux ECM Arena in Beijing, with a total prize pool of $1.25 million on the line. That prize pool is split in a way that reflects the evolving economics of top-tier esports: $300,000 goes directly to players, while a much larger $950,000 is allocated to the participating clubs. How the qualification path works Of the 16 teams that will ultimately compete at the main event, 13 have already secured direct invitations. Those invites are determined by Valve Regional Standings data as of August 3, 2026. The remaining three slots will be decided through two separate online closed qualifiers.
