Inter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio has denied that the club has any interest in Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, pouring cold water on transfer rumors that had been circulating in Italian media. The denial comes after Corriere dello Sport reported that Inter had made an inquiry about the 23-year-old French international around mid-June.
The player who isn’t going anywhere
Camavinga moved to Real Madrid from Rennes back in 2021, and his current deal at the Bernabeu runs through 2029. Even before Ausilio’s denial, the prospect of Camavinga leaving Madrid was being described as “very unlikely” by multiple outlets. The midfielder reportedly wants to stay put, particularly after navigating what sources describe as a challenging 2025-26 campaign.
What Ausilio actually said
The denial from Ausilio was straightforward. The Inter director rejected the notion that the club has been pursuing Camavinga, contradicting the Corriere dello Sport report that suggested an inquiry had been made. Ausilio has been active in discussing other squad-related matters in recent weeks, but no public comments from him specifically addressing Camavinga have surfaced in sources from the last 30 days.
The timing of the rumor is also worth noting. Reports of an Inter Milan enquiry surfaced around June 15, 2026, via Corriere dello Sport. Real Madrid’s valuation of Camavinga is reported at around €40-50 million, and with his contract running until 2029, any buying club would need to pay a substantial transfer fee just to get Madrid to the negotiating table.
