Jito has upgraded its Block Assembly Marketplace (BAM) on Solana, shaving approximately 50 milliseconds off bundle submission delays. Early results tied to the upgrade, announced October 13, 2026, point to a 72% rise in average rewards for each successful bundle submitted to the network. What changed under the hood A bundle is a package of transactions submitted together for inclusion in a block, typically with a tip attached for the validator who includes it. BAM is the marketplace where those bundles compete for space. The upgrade did not happen in isolation. Solana reduced its target slot times to 200 milliseconds at Epoch 1053 on October 9, 2026, which compressed the window every participant has to work with. BAM adjusted accordingly, with its auction intervals tightened from 25 milliseconds to 20 milliseconds to keep pace with the network’s faster rhythm. Jito has also been patching performance issues over recent weeks. Fixes addressed kernel delays that ranged from 90 to 330 milliseconds, a significant drag when the entire slot is now 200 milliseconds long. Those improvements have produced a 15.5% increase in BAM tips per block. How BAM got here BAM launched on mainnet on Sep...
