Lyte raises $165M, triples valuation to $1.6B in funding round

Lyte, a robotics and artificial intelligence startup that was still in stealth mode seven months ago, just closed a $165 million funding round that values the company at $1.6 billion. That’s roughly triple its previous valuation. The round was co-led by Maverick Silicon, with Fidelity Management & Research, Atreides Management, Key1 Capital, and Ora Global also participating. The fresh capital brings Lyte’s total fundraising haul since its 2021 founding to $272 million. From stealth to unicorn in eight months Lyte emerged from stealth on January 5, 2026, with $107 million in aggregate funding already under its belt. Less than eight months later, the Mountain View, California-based company has more than doubled that war chest and crossed the unicorn threshold. The company was founded by Alexander Shpunt, who serves as CEO. Shpunt and other members of the founding team previously worked as engineers on Apple’s Face ID technology, as well as on PrimeSense, an Apple acquisition tied to depth-sensing technologies including Microsoft Kinect.
