Meta unveils AI tools that generate playable games from text prompts

Meta just made game development as simple as typing a sentence. The company released a collection of generative AI tools that allow users to create and edit both 2D and 3D games using nothing but natural language prompts, spanning its Horizon Worlds platform and a new standalone app called Pocket. Pocket app and Horizon Worlds: two paths to creation The Pocket app generates playable mini-experiences called “gizmos” in under a minute from a natural language prompt. Users can also layer in touch and tilt inputs, plus multimedia elements like sound and photos. Pocket soft-launched in Brazil on June 29, 2026, and later expanded to US users on August 20, 2026, with the app built by the team behind Meta’s earlier Gizmo project. The Horizon Worlds tools work across desktop and mobile platforms and offer mesh generation for 3D objects, texture generation, audio generation, and scripting assistance that can produce functional game code from plain English descriptions. Daily usage limits keep things in check. Users can generate up to 100 meshes, 50 skyboxes, and 200 audio assets per day.
