Monad shifts focus to quantum security and institutional privacy

Monad wants to be the blockchain that institutions trust today and that quantum computers can’t crack tomorrow. The EVM-compatible Layer 1 plans to concentrate on two themes: quantum security and institutional privacy. Two roadmaps, eight days apart The first piece landed on September 28, 2026, when Monad published a post-quantum roadmap. Its opening step is upgradeable account authentication. Account authentication is the system that proves you’re the rightful owner of a wallet. Making it upgradeable means the network can swap in stronger signature methods later without tearing up the foundations. The roadmap is intended to move accounts toward quantum-resistant schemes such as ML-DSA. Crucially, the transition is designed to happen without disrupting existing address structures or forcing users to migrate assets. Wallet protection is only the starting point. The broader initiative is meant to eventually open the door to additional consensus and validator capabilities, extending the quantum-resistant work deeper into how the network itself operates. The second piece arrived on October 6, 2026. Category Labs introduced a design called Monad Private Settlement. The concept creates e...
