Morpho has open-sourced a new tool called Quoter Bot, designed to automate market quoting on Morpho Midnight, the protocol’s fixed-rate, fixed-term lending layer. The bot generates quotes pegged to a reference rate, giving market makers a lightweight way to provide continuous liquidity in Midnight’s orderbook-style markets. The release, tagged quoter-bot-2026.08.14-5, arrives less than a month after Midnight itself went live on July 21. For a protocol managing over $12 billion in deposits across its broader credit network, the tooling signals that Morpho is serious about making Midnight’s maker-taker model actually functional at scale. What Midnight actually does, and why it needs a bot Morpho Blue, the protocol’s established lending layer, operates on variable rates. Midnight flips that model entirely. On Midnight, lenders and borrowers negotiate fixed rates and fixed terms through signed maker offers. A lender posts an offer saying “I’ll lend USDC at 5% for 30 days against cbBTC collateral,” and a borrower can take the other side. These offers live in a mempool and get matched on-chain.
