Natus Vincere aims for third major title at IEM Cologne Major 2026

1 hour ago 1

Natus Vincere, the Ukrainian esports powerhouse better known as NaVi, is heading into IEM Cologne Major 2026 with a singular goal: winning their third Major championship.

NaVi has competed in all 23 CS:GO and CS2 Majors ever held. No other organization can make that claim. They’ve turned that consistency into two titles, first at PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and then at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, which was the first-ever CS2 Major. Now they want to add a third.

The tournament and the stakes

IEM Cologne Major 2026 runs from June 2 to June 21, with 32 teams competing across four stages for a prize pool of $1.25 million. It’s one of the longest-running Major events in the competitive Counter-Strike ecosystem.

NaVi secured their spot via a VRS invite from Europe. Their current roster features Aleksib, b1t, iM, makazze, and w0nderful, with B1ad3 serving as coach and jL listed as a substitute.

Their first real test comes on June 11 in a Stage 3 matchup against Team Spirit.

One notable format change this year is that Stage 3 will feature best-of-three series for the first time. For a team with NaVi’s experience, playing 18 playoff appearances across 23 Majors, that format shift could be an advantage.

A legacy built on showing up

Since CS:GO Majors began, NaVi has qualified and competed every single time. That’s 23 consecutive Major appearances, a streak that spans the entire history of Counter-Strike as a Major-caliber esport.

Their Stockholm 2021 victory was the culmination of years of near-misses. The Copenhagen 2024 win carried even more significance: it was the first Major played on CS2, and NaVi proved they could dominate across both versions of the game.

What this means for the competitive landscape

The esports industry, and Counter-Strike in particular, sits at an interesting inflection point. Prize pools remain substantial, with IEM Cologne’s $1.25 million purse reinforcing that top-tier Counter-Strike still commands serious investment.

It’s worth noting that the esports sector remains largely decoupled from crypto market trends. There are no indications of crypto-related entities or tokens associated with NaVi or the IEM Cologne Major itself. The tournament and its participants appear to be following traditional sponsorship and funding models.

The Stage 3 match against Team Spirit on June 11 will be the first real indicator of where NaVi stands in this tournament.
