New York Stock Exchange opens Dallas outpost to boost listings

Wall Street has a new zip code. The New York Stock Exchange officially opened the physical headquarters for NYSE Texas on August 27, 2026, setting up shop at the historic Old Parkland campus in Dallas and planting its flag in what the financial crowd has taken to calling “Y’all Street.” The ceremony was not exactly low-key. Texas Governor Greg Abbott rang the closing bell, a symbolic gesture that underscored how much political capital the state has invested in positioning itself as a genuine financial capital. Abbott declared that Texas now hosts more significant capital than any other US state. How NYSE Texas got here NYSE Texas did not appear out of thin air on August 27. The exchange has been operating since March 31, 2025, when Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of NYSE, relaunched the former NYSE Chicago as a Texas-incorporated entity. That reincorporation made NYSE Texas the first fully electronic equities exchange established in the state. In roughly 17 months of operation, NYSE Texas has grown to more than 120 listed securities issuers.
