Nexus Data Centers seeks $15B loan for Texas campus expansion

Fifteen billion dollars is a lot of money. It’s roughly what Norway spends annually on its entire military. And it’s what Nexus Data Centers wants to borrow to build a single data center campus in rural Texas. The company is pursuing bridge financing of approximately $15 billion to expand its Apex DFW project in Hubbard, Texas, a 2,000-acre site in Hill County situated south of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. If the deal closes, it would rank among the largest single-project financings in data center history, underscoring just how aggressively the industry is scaling to meet AI-driven compute demand. What Nexus is actually building The Hubbard campus is designed to be a hyperscale facility powered by natural gas. Initial development phases target a capacity of 600 to 612 megawatts, which is substantial on its own. For context, a single megawatt can power roughly 750 average American homes.
