Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says quantum computers could help train AI

Jensen Huang has a new job in mind for quantum computers: teaching AI. The Nvidia CEO says quantum machines could help train AI models by simulating biology and chemistry, then producing synthetic data from those simulations. From simulated molecules to training data The logic runs roughly like this. AI models learn from data, and some of the most valuable scientific data is extremely hard to collect. Nature runs on quantum mechanics. Molecules, proteins and chemical reactions behave in ways that classical computers struggle to model precisely. A quantum computer, in theory, speaks nature’s native language. If it can simulate how molecules actually behave, the outputs could become a fresh supply of training material for AI systems. Synthetic data is already a popular workaround in AI. Huang’s suggestion is that quantum simulation could make that synthetic data far more faithful to how the physical world works. Nvidia’s 104-qubit simulation Huang’s comments land alongside a concrete quantum milestone from Nvidia. On October 19, 2026, the company announced a record simulation of a 104-qubit fault-tolerant quantum processor. The work ran on the JUPITER supercomputer at Germany’s Jülic...
