Nvidia stock jumps 7% as earnings lift Bitcoin

Nvidia shares climbed 6.7% to approximately $223.71 in premarket trading on Aug. 27 after the chipmaker reported stronger fiscal second-quarter results and issued an above-consensus outlook. Summary Nvidia shares rose 6.7% premarket after quarterly revenue and guidance exceeded Wall Street expectations Thursday. Second-quarter revenue reached $96.2 billion, rising 106% year over year and beating analyst estimates. Bitcoin gained 2.4% toward $80,400 as technology futures rallied following Nvidia’s earnings release Thursday morning. IREN jumped 5%, while TeraWulf and Cipher Mining each added approximately 3% before Thursday’s opening. Nvidia forecast $108 billion in third-quarter revenue while excluding China data-center compute sales from guidance. The rally briefly reached about 8% earlier in the session. Bitcoin gained roughly 2.4% to trade near $80,400, while Nasdaq 100 futures advanced about 1.1%. The simultaneous moves reflected wider demand for technology and other risk assets following Nvidia’s report, although earnings alone cannot explain every change in Bitcoin’s price.
