OKX launches OKX Money app to bring stablecoin savings to emerging markets

OKX wants to be the app you open when your bank, or your local currency, lets you down. The exchange unveiled OKX Money on October 6, 2026, at its OKX Now product event in Singapore. The standalone app is built for saving, sending, and spending dollar-backed stablecoins, and it is aimed at people in select emerging markets. What OKX Money actually does The pitch is simple. Users deposit local currency, and the app automatically converts it into a dollar-backed stablecoin. More than 50 local currencies are supported on the way in. On the other side, users can hold USDG, USDC, or USDT, three tokens designed to track the US dollar. Moving money around is free. Conversions between supported stablecoins come with zero fees, and so do transfers, which users can send globally. Then there’s the yield. Eligible USDG balances can earn up to 10% annual percentage yield, with no staking or lock-up required. That “up to” is doing real work. The rate depends on conditions tied to deposits and spending, so not every dollar parked in the app will land at the top tier.
