OpenAI rolls out GPT 5.5 with new benchmarks in coding, science and knowledge work

OpenAI has delivered GPT-5.5, a major upgrade focused on intelligence, efficiency, and real-world usability. The model can interpret user goals more effectively and carry out complex tasks end-to-end, including coding, research, and data-driven workflows.

With enhanced agentic behavior, GPT-5.5 can plan, execute, and refine its work across tools, while maintaining GPT-5.4-level latency and using fewer tokens.
