Teresa Goody Guillén has joined the list of candidates vying for the position of chairman at the U.S. securities regulatory body.

On 20 Nov 2024, Coindesk reported that the Trump transition team is considering Teresa Goody Guillén, a partner at the law firm BakerHostetler and co-lead of its blockchain team, as a potential candidate for the SEC chair role.

The report, based on information from insiders and industry sources, highlighted Goody Guillén’s credentials as a seasoned securities lawyer with experience both serving the SEC and representing blockchain companies and traditional businesses in opposition to the agency.
