Microsoft is a global technology leader founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Known for revolutionising personal computing with Windows, Microsoft provides innovative software, hardware, and cloud-based solutions, including Office 365, Azure, and Surface devices. Its mission is to empower individuals and organisations worldwide through technology.

On 19 Nov 2024, VanEck hosted an X-Space discussion. In that space discussion, popular Bitcoin advocate & former CEO of Bitcoin-holder firm Microstrategy, Michael Saylor, shared that he has been allotted three minutes to make a case for Bitcoin investment to Microsoft’s board of directors. That means he will appear there to share his opinion on why Microsoft should invest in Bitcoin.

Saylor was willing to get some huge time to discuss this topic in full detail with more time. Also, he clarified that his separate Bitcoin discussion request with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has not yet been accepted.

Saylor stated:

“The activist that put that [Bitcoin purchase] proposal together contacted me to present to the board, and I agreed to provide a three-minute presentation.”

Michael Saylor’s Suggestion to Microsoft

In Oct of this year, Microsoft’s filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosed that the CEO faced high pressure to invest money in Bitcoin, just like MicroStrategy. The filing showed that the company board members had recommended voters vote against Microsoft assessing Bitcoin investments.

At the time, many reports circulated regarding potential changes for Microsoft to invest billions of dollars in Bitcoin. Michael Saylor took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask Microsoft CEO Nadella if he wanted “to make the next trillion dollars for MSFT shareholders” with Bitcoin investment.
