RedStone launches Sanctions Oracle for onchain compliance on Ethereum

RedStone has put sanctions screening directly onchain. The modular oracle network launched its Sanctions Oracle on Ethereum mainnet on October 7, 2026, giving smart contracts a way to check wallets against 463 official sanctions lists. How the Sanctions Oracle works The oracle compiles sanctioned addresses into an onchain registry that contracts can consult before letting a transaction through. The data comes from 463 official sources, aggregated through OpenSanctions. Those sources include lists from OFAC, the EU, the UK and the UN. A smart contract makes a single read call to the oracle. If the counterparty wallet is flagged, the contract can block the transaction. The screening happens inside the transaction itself, with no offchain review required. RedStone says the sanctions list will be updated every week. Each update carries a timestamp recorded onchain, so a contract can verify how fresh the data is before trusting it. Updates to the oracle are secured through a multisig mechanism. That means changes to the list require sign-off from multiple parties rather than a single key holder. A drop-in replacement for Chainalysis users RedStone built the Sanctions Oracle to match the...
