Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky sued over alleged $20M yacht commission dodge

When you’re buying a €350 million superyacht, you’d think a 5% commission would feel like a rounding error. Apparently not. Nik Storonsky, the CEO and co-founder of fintech giant Revolut, is facing a lawsuit in London from luxury yacht brokerage Cecil Wright. The firm alleges Storonsky bypassed them to avoid paying roughly €17.5 million, or about $20.1 million, in commission on the purchase of a superyacht called *Nixie*. Cecil Wright claims it introduced Storonsky to the vessel and expected to be paid when the deal closed. Instead, according to the suit, Storonsky went around the broker entirely. His family office has denied the allegations and says it plans to fight the case in court. The yacht in question, *Nixie*, carries a reported price tag of €350 million. Cecil Wright’s position is straightforward: they made the introduction, the deal happened, they deserve to get paid. The lawsuit was filed on August 4, 2026, and landed in London courts. Revolut reported $2.3 billion in profit on $6 billion in revenue during 2025.
