Ripple Co-Founder Chris Larsen Donates Another $10 Million in XRP to Kamala Harris Campaign

This move of Larsen is in complete contrast to the overall crypto industry, that has been largely leaning on the re-election of Donald Trump. He donated $1 million worth of XRP to Harris last week as a placeholder of his confidence in her being a potential supporter of the crypto industry through new democratic policies.

This news follows as Ripple faces the continuing jogging legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Despite the continued scrutiny of the SEC into the operations of the sector under democratic leadership, Larsen remains attached to the party with confidence in Harris’s leadership being able to steer a benefit toward the industry.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse similarly commented on Larsen’s move, re-iterating readiness on the part of his company to cooperate with either party towards the advancement of pro-crypto policies. Earlier, Ripple had announced a $50 million donation to Fairshake, a super PAC that would support pro-crypto candidates in the 2024 elections.

Kamala Harris Breaks Fundraising Record

Meanwhile, Harris’s campaign has made headlines with record-breaking fundraising numbers. Reports from The New York Times show that she raised $1 billion last quarter, the highest ever recorded for a U.S. presidential campaign. In September alone, she secured $378 million, significantly outpacing Donald Trump’s $160 million.

As October progresses, Harris has already raised $348 million, while Trump’s campaign has collected $283 million. Despite decentralized platforms like Polymarket showing more confidence in Trump’s chances, Harris’s campaign has dominated in financial backing, setting her up as a formidable contender for the upcoming election.
