River reports corporations bought 115,000 Bitcoin worth $7.4B in Q2

Corporations are buying Bitcoin at a pace that makes the post-halving supply squeeze look modest by comparison. River’s latest report shows businesses acquired roughly 115,000 BTC in Q2 2026, worth approximately $7.4 billion, with a significant chunk of that supply coming directly from retail sellers. The numbers behind the trend River’s data shows public companies specifically purchased around 110,000 BTC during the quarter, representing a 1.8x increase over the prior two quarters combined. Total corporate Bitcoin holdings have now crossed 1.26 million BTC, valued at approximately $79 billion, accounting for more than 6% of Bitcoin’s entire fixed supply of 21 million coins. Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, remains the dominant player with over 847,000 BTC on its books. Two other notable holders have also entered the conversation at scale: Twenty One Capital with roughly 43,500 BTC and Metaplanet with around 43,000 BTC.
