Robinhood Chain is back online. The company’s Ethereum Layer 2 network suffered a block production outage on September 4, 2026, freezing transaction processing for somewhere between 4 and 14 minutes before operations returned to normal. No funds were lost. No unauthorized transfers occurred. But for a chain that had just logged more than 11 million daily transactions, even a brief freeze is the kind of thing that gets people’s attention. What happened Robinhood Chain, which runs on an Arbitrum Orbit stack and targets a block production interval of roughly 100 milliseconds, stalled out during a period of unusually high demand. Observers noted gaps in the chain’s data submissions to Ethereum, the underlying settlement layer the network relies on for security and finality. The chain carries chain ID 4663 and uses Ethereum blob data for availability, a relatively modern approach to keeping Layer 2 costs manageable.
