Robinhood reports 24% increase in daily crypto trading volume in September

Robinhood’s crypto trading desk just posted its second consecutive month of meaningful growth. Daily notional crypto trading volume climbed 24% in September compared to August, extending a streak that saw August volumes surge 61% over July. The numbers in context August’s notional crypto trading volume came in at $17.5B, up from $10.9B in July. That works out to roughly $565M in average daily trading volume for the month. If September’s 24% daily increase holds across the full month, the platform would be tracking somewhere north of $700M per day. But zoom out and the picture gets more complicated. August 2026’s $17.5B in crypto volume was still 38% lower than August 2025, when traders pushed $28.1B through the platform. The volume split between Robinhood’s two crypto channels is worth noting. In August, Bitstamp, the exchange Robinhood acquired, contributed $10.1B of the total. The Robinhood app itself accounted for $7.4B.
