The combined onchain market cap of tokenized stocks has crossed the $2 billion threshold. Securitize, the company that recently went public on the NYSE under the ticker SECZ, sits at the epicenter of that growth.
The numbers behind the surge
According to data from rwa.xyz, the total market value of tokenized equities reached approximately $1.96 billion by mid-2026. Tokenized equities were worth under $20 million in late 2024. By March 2026, they had already cracked the $1 billion mark.
When the company listed on the NYSE in July 2026, it simultaneously launched approximately $295 million in issuer-sponsored tokenized shares on Solana and Avalanche.
Among individual tokenized assets, Exodus Movement’s Class A shares, tokenized by Securitize under the ticker EXOD, stand out with a valuation exceeding $268 million.
Competitors like Ondo Global Markets and xStocks, which is affiliated with Kraken, have also been building tokenized equity products. Securitize’s issuer-direct model, where companies themselves sponsor the tokenization of their shares rather than relying on third-party wrapping, has given it a structural edge in attracting institutional partners.
Why this model matters
Tokenized equities offer 24/7 trading, fractional ownership, and atomic settlement with stablecoins. Buyer sends USDC, seller receives it, ownership transfers, and it all happens in a single transaction.
Securitize manages over $4 billion in tokenized assets as of mid-2026, serving institutional clients including BlackRock, whose BUIDL fund runs on Securitize’s rails.
Securitize completed a SPAC merger that raised approximately $400 million, capital it has deployed toward expanding its tokenization infrastructure and regulatory compliance framework.
What this means for investors
US investors face ongoing uncertainty about their ability to fully participate in tokenized equity markets. Securitize has made compliant security token issuance a core part of its pitch, but regulatory clarity hasn’t kept pace with the technology’s adoption.
