Setting the Remaining Contracts on the BitMEX Platform to Reduce Only from 7th September, and Delisting on 16th September

On 7 September 2026 at 04:00 UTC, BitMEX will set all remaining Futures contracts to Reduce Only mode. This impacts ETHUSDU26, XBTU26, XBTZ26 and XBTH27. On 8 September 2026 at 04:00 UTC, BitMEX will set ETHUSD and ETHUSDT to Reduce Only mode. On 10 September 2026 at 04:00 UTC, BitMEX will set XBTUSD and XBTUSDT to Reduce Only mode. When Reduce Only mode is set, traders are no longer able to increase the size of their positions, open positions can only be reduced and no new positions cannot be opened.There is an exception that allows designated market makers to increase their positions so they can continue to provide liquidity.On 16th September 2026 at 12:00 UTC, we will delist and settle all remaining derivatives contracts: 4 Perpetual Swap contracts and 4 Futures contracts (please see the lists below).The Perpetual Swap contracts will be settled early at 12:00 UTC on 16th September 2026 ( “Tsettle”), according to the standard practice described in our Exchange Guide.
